STALIN - INTRODUCTION

Stalin is arguably one of the most significant figures of the 20th century. He ruled the Soviet Union with an iron fist, developed Russia into a feared global superpower and was responsible for the persecution and genocide of thousands of people to maintain control and power. 

 

When researching Stalin and Stalinism you should consider:

  • the apparatuses he used to maintain power

  • the social, economic and political changes he brought to Russia and the Soviet Union

  • the local, regional and global impact of his rule.
