It could be argued that for many people the Russian Revolution was directed, fought by and won by the Communist Party. Such was the strength of Soviet propaganda that it is no longer common knowledge that the Bolsheviks (later to become the Communist Party) were not the only socialist party. So how did the Bolshevik come to become the sole power in Russia and lead it on its eventual path to becoming the Soviet Union?
